Devoted father of Philip Cutler and his wife Karen of Stoughton Lisa Graff and her husband Michael of Easton , Michael Cutler and his wife Gretchen of Brockton. Also survived by 9 grandchildren. Dear brother of Roselen Vineberg and Sydell Rosen.Services at Temple Beth Am 871 North Main St. Randolph on Wednesday December 23 at 10:00 am. Following interment in Sharon Memorial Park a memorial observance will be held at The home of Lisa and Michael Graff until 9:00 pm Wednesday and Thursday 12 to 8pm. Shirley Winograd Kasten of Dedham, formerly of Newton, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2009, her seventy-fifth birthday. She is survived by her husband Jack Kasten; her sister Esther Winograd Belofsky; her children Nancy (David), Steven (Susan) and Michael Kasten; her seven grandchildren Jacob, Nina and Lili Stern; Joshua and David Kasten; and Samuel and Madeline Kasten; and an extended family of relatives and friends who deeply admired and loved her. Her passion for classical music, cooking, and helping others will guide us always. Funeral services will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 22, at Temple Israel of Boston, 477 Longwood Avenue, Boston, attendant parking on The Riverway. Jacob Ain “Jack” Share E-mail Visit Guest Book AIN, Jacob “Jack” Dedicated to making the world a better place Jacob (Jack) Ain, of Weston, MA, 94 years of age, died peacefully on December 18, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Jack Ain was born December 15, 1915 in Sea Cliff, NY to Julius and Clara Ain and lived most of his life in Sea Cliff and Old Brookville, NY. He leaves his beloved four sons and one daughter: Mark Ain, Lexington, MA; Brent Ain, Potomac, MD; Ross Ain, Washington, DC; Aron Ain, Newton, MA; and Alice Ain Rich, Weston, MA. He is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Pearl Ponemon Ain and siblings Sarah Morenstein and Herbert Ain. He was a graduate of Sea Cliff High School, Class of 1933, and New York University, Class of 1937 where he earned a degree in engineering. Jack lived a full life with his adored wife of 65 years, Pearl, at his side. For over 45 years, he operated a local plumbing and heating supply business that he took over from his father. But his real interests were his family and the charitable organizations to which he gave tirelessly. While Jack was involved in leadership positions with the Lions Club, Congregation Tifereth Israel, the Glen Cove YMCA and many other charitable organizations, the Nassau County Chapter of the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC) was particularly special to him. He served as a board member and leader of AHRC for many decades. In recognition of his dedication to providing assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, the AHRC opened the Pearl and Jack Ain Advantage Care Diagnostic and Treatment Center on its Brookville, NY campus in 2005 through a lead gift provided by Pearl and Jack. He was committed to his community and energized by working to make the world a better place. He will be remembered as a man who cared deeply about his family and made a difference by helping those who needed assistance to lead productive and meaningful lives. Donations may be made in loving memory of Jacob Ain to the Pearl & Jack Ain Advantage Care Diagnostic and Treatment Center at AHRC Nassau, 189 Wheatley Road, Brookville, NY 11545. HOLOFF, Richard, age 63, of Toronto, Canada, formerly of Attleboro,MA and Los Angeles, CA, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Beloved husband of Susan (Kurland) Holoff. Devoted father of Jonathan H. Holoff of Toronto and Rachel R. Holoff of Toronto. Dear son of the late Mildred (Simonds) Holoff and the late Dr. James Holoff of Attleboro, and dearest brother of Alan Holoff of Attleboro. Son-in-law of Anita and the late Manuel Kurland of Newton. A national partner and senior consultant for over 30 years in Boston, Los Angeles and Toronto, Richard had a distinguished career with Mercer (Canada) LLC / Marsh & McLennan Companies. Well respected and loved, Richard was both a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He leaves behind many friends and co-workers and will be greatly missed.
