Wife of the late Dr. David Weisman and daughter of the late Frances and Harry Shuman. Loving mother of Linda and Edward Davis and Marcia Weisman. Beloved nana of Derek and Whitney Davis. Sister of the late Jacob and Franklin Shuman Rose was raised in Mattapan and graduated from Boston University. She met her husband on Nantasket Beach and the were married six months later. They moved to Hull where David had a dental office and Rosalyn stayed at home to raise her two daughters. In 1964 they moved to Newton and lived there until David died in 1973. She then moved to Chestnut Hill and began a career at Filenes in the Shoe Department where she worked for 18 years. She retired from Filenes and enjoyed her life traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was famous for her baking and culinary skills which she loved to do and share with others. In her final months at Newbridge on the Charles Assisted living she made many friends and enjoyed her life despite declining health. She was given the best care and the family will be forever grateful to the staff at Newbridge for their love and kindness. Funeral services will be at the Brezniak-Rodman Chapel, 1251 Washington St. West Newton on Wednesday, June 9 at 1 PM. Memorial observance will be at the Davis residence, in Framingham on Wednesday until 9 pm and Thursday 2-4, 7-9 PM.

Dr. Constance D. Wood died of cancer on Tuesday June 1, 2010. Constance D. Wood was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the first and only daughter of Dr. Henry Rosen and Ms. Annie Lena Miller Rosen. She graduated from Brookline High School with Honors and after graduating from Boston University, College of Liberal Arts, she was awarded an Assistantship to the Chairman of the psychology department for her graduate studies. After a year of graduate school, Dr. Wood was offered the position of clinical psychologist in the neurology department of Massachusetts General Hospital. There was an 11 year intermezzo from work until her youngest child was in kindergarten and she had completed the Masters Degree program at the University of Hartford. One of her professors, also Chairman of the psychology department at the Institute of Living, offered her the position of Research Psychologist. Following that she was the first school psychologist at the Connecticut Institute for the Blind. On moving to New York she was appointed as school psychologist for the public schools in Mount Vernon, New York. At the end of the school day she also worked as a clinical psychologist at the New Rochelle Center for Psychological Services and Education. She received her doctoral degree from Fordham University at Lincoln Center in New York. Following that Dr. Wood continued post-graduate studies in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at The Institute for the Study of Psychotherapy. Dr. Wood arrived in Houston, Texas on New Year’s eve 1977. She had been chosen to be the director of a school for emotionally disturbed children. In 1979 she went in to full-time private practice. She has treated children from ages 2 and up, adolescents, adults, couples and families with a range of emotional disorders of childhood adolescence and adulthood. Dr. Wood has been published in psychological, psychoanalytic, and journals for the blind. Dr. Wood was on the medical staff at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, and Texas Children’s Hospital for over 25 years. She has been on the board of directors of Mental Health America of Greater Houston and on the board of directors of Main Street Theater. She was a serious devotee of the arts, opera, ballet, theatre, gallery and museum attendance. She enjoyed travelling around the world, visiting Europe many times, the Middle East, Far East Central and South America. Dr. Wood is survived by her children, Shelley Alyne Lasker of Hartford Connecticut, Marsha Karen Nell of Woodstock, New York, and Jeffrey Myles Lasker of Marlboro, Massachusetts. Dr. Wood is also survived by three brothers, Dr. J. Myron Rosen and Mr. Howard Irwin Rosen, both of Boston, Massachusetts, and Mr. Warren Kenneth Rosen of Boynton Beach, Florida. Dr. Wood felt that “Life is a precious gift that should be enjoyed to the utmost by all.” Graveside services were held at Lindwood Memorial Park, Randolph on June 3, 2010 . Janet Eidelman on May 1st, as the sun twinkled on the calming ocean in East Falmouth, Massachusetts. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in her home. Janet was 79 years young and left behind a legacy of memories. She was born in Boston, was raised in Dorchester, and was married and brought up her family in Framingham. She worked at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham for 30 years. Janet and Elliot celebrated 60 years of marriage. With her love of the beach, they retired to Cape Cod to enjoy their life together. Albert, Ellen, Kenneth and Dana will always cherish the memories spent with their nurturing mother. Shoshana, Joshua, Max, Anna and Abigail will always remember their adoring Grammy. She also leaves behind her loving brother, David, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories.
