Seymour F. Silberberg LEOMINSTER- Seymour F. Silberberg, 93, of 43 Smith St., Leominster died on Monday, July 23rd in Univ of Mass Healthcare in Worcester. His wife Evelyn (Freedman) Silberberg died in 1996. He leaves a son, Boaz Silberberg of Jerusalem, Israel; and two grandchildren. He was born in New York City, a son of Joseph and Rae (Levine) Silberberg and lived in Leominster for 54 years. He graduated from the City College of New York and was an accountant for many years, retiring many years ago. He served for 4½years in the coastguard in this country and overseas during World War II. He was a long time member of Congregation Agudat Achim in Leominster and had been a teacher in its Hebrew School for many years. Robert Chandler  ,age 66, of Delray Beach,Fl formerly of Wayland, Wellesley and Newton, on July14, 2012,after a long battle with Mylodysplastic Syndrome and Leukemia.Mr. Chandler leaves his cherished  and  devoted wife Christine, loving children Todd Chandler of Brooklyn, NY and Lauren Chandler of Portland, Oregon, step children Amy Fine and her husband JP Fine of Weston and Todd Tanger and his wife Barbara of Marblehead and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 99 year old mother Miriam “ Mimi Chandler of Chestnut Hill. He was the son of the late Louis Chandler. he leaves his sisters Carol Chandler of Boston and Judith Chandler of Hawaii. His first wife Terry passed away in 1989.Before being forced to retire in June 2011 due to debilitating fatigue from his illness. Mr. Chandler was a senior partner in the Boston Law firm of Stoneman, Chandler and Miller specializing in labor, employment and school law. He was well respected in his practice and was befriended by his clients and adversaries alike during his 39 years with the firm. He had the rare distinction of arguing a case before the US Supreme Court when he was only 32 years old. Mr. Chandler will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor and the many friendships he established both in his law practice and his private life. Most of all he enjoyed trips to beautiful beaches such as Anquilla, Martha’s Vineyard, Maine, and Nantucket where he and his wife were married. He loved all kinds of music, and cherished being with his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly. Mr. Chandler was a 1968 graduate of Bowdoin College and a 1972 graduate of Boston University Law School. Services will be held at Temple Beth Elohim , 10 Bethel Rd. Wellesley (TODAY) Sunday July 15^th , 2012 at 10:30 am. Engle- Harvey Seymour of Natick passed away on July 9, 2012.Loving father of Elyssa Berg of Boca Raton, FL, Adam Engle of Natick and Stefanie Burdick and her husband Jerry of Spring Hill, TN. Zayde leaves his grandchildren Allyson and Austyn Berg, Dale and Michael Burdick as well as several nephews, a niece, grand nephews, grand nieces and many dear friends. Loving son of the late Alfred and Martha Engle. Dear brother of the late Selma Gilman and Myron Engle. Harvey was a life long  member of Temple Israel of Natick. He had a gift for writing and loved sharing his thoughts in wonderful poems which he wrote for many on all sorts of occasions. Bette (Grossman) Jagodnik, 100, of Osterville, died on Monday, July 9th in the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston.
Her husband George W. Jagodnik died in 1991. She leaves two sons, Stuart Jagodnik and his wife Francine of Hampton Meadows, NH and Barry Jagodnik and his wife June of Brookline, MA and two grandchildren, Michael Jagodnik of Brookline and Britt L. Jagodnik of New York City. She was pre-deceased by her brother Shepard Crossman and by her sisters, Sally Landers and Ann Finn.
With her husband George, she owned and operated Stuart Barry Shoe Store in Fitchburg for many years.
She was born in Worcester and lived here for 72 years, moving to Osterville 28 years ago.
She had a wonderful marriage with her husband George. She had many close friends and neighbors. She was a wonderful cook. She celebrated her 100th birthday party and delivered a wonderful speech.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12:00 NOON on THURSDAY, JULY 12TH in TEMPLE EMANUEL, 280 MAY ST. WORCESTER  Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
Memorial Observance will be announced at the time of the funeral.

Freeman-Dr. David L., of Newton, MA, on July 8, 2012. Beloved husband of Dr. Amanda B. Freeman. Devoted father of Joshua, Daniel and his wife Natalie, and Aaron Freeman. Proud grandfather of Gil Parker and Delia Freeman. Loving brother of Joanne Grossman and her husband Marvin, and Judith Freedman and her husband Merton. David was very active at the Social Action Committee at Temple Israel. An accomplished pianist, he played for many charitable causes including nursing homes, Lahey Clinic, and Boston Piano Amateurs Ascociation. He was a trusted and caring physician for many years. David and his beloved wife provided medical care to families needing assistance after natural disasters in Latin America. Services at Temple Shalom Newton MA, on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 12 Noon. Sarah Dorothy Phillips, 94. Beloved aunt of Arthur and Mark Dublin, Jeffery Phillips, Karen Freed, Gail and Norman Phillips. Born 2-6-1918, daughter of Samuel and Rebecca of Boston; sister of Saul, Isadore and her twin, Janet Dublin. Sally was an independent, intellectual woman who loved to read and play bridge. In her youth, she was an actress with the Little Theatre Company, which produced plays highlighting social concerns. She served in WWII in the Women’s Army Corp. She was a valued and important employee of Brandeis University as executive assistant to the president for many years. Graveside services at Sharon Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 10:45 am. Kellem, Bertrum N. of Newton, on July 5, 2012. Beloved husband of Fifi Swerling Kellem and the late Tobey (Goodman) Kellem. Devoted father of Jeffrey L. Kellem and the late Richard A. Kellem. Gertrude (Budish) Niman WORCESTER – Gertrude (Budish) Niman, 98, died on Friday, June 29th in the Jewish Healthcare Center. Her husband of 32 years, Arvey “Pinky” Niman died in 1978. She leaves her children, Nancy wife of Steven Epstein of Worcester and Paul Niman and his wife Debbie of West Newbury, MA; her grandchildren, Jill Epstein wife of Chris Higgins of Framingham, Matt Epstein and his wife Shauna of Boston, Joshua Niman and his wife Rebecca of Belmont, MA and Aaron Niman and his wife Upaasna of Washington, DC, and her great grandchildren, Olivia, Chase and Ayden. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Elizabeth Sawyer and Nahama Budish. She was known as “Giddy” and was born in Worcester on May 21, 1914, a daughter of Jacob and Rebecca (Freezon) Budish and was a lifelong resident, residing on Vassar St. for most of her life. She graduated from Classical High School and had attended Syracuse University and Boston University. She married Arvey “Pinky” Niman in 1946, while he was on leave from serving in the Army during World War II. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, who regularly won the Women’s Golf Championship at Mt. Pleasant Country Club in Boylston. She was a lifelong member of Temple Emanuel. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Gertrude’s family would like to thank the entire staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center, especially those associated with the fifth floor, for their kind and compassionate care of their mother. Geller, Harmona “Mona” (Jones), 91, of Auburndale and formerly of Brookline, on June 29, 2012. Wife of Louis, mother of Lynne and Gary. She was a resident at Lasell Village for the past six years, and would have been 92 on July 19^th. Mona worked for many years  as a psychologist, having trained at the University of Toronto and Clark University in Worcester. She was a beautiful writer, an avid reader, and a lover of music. She had a great passion for horses and nature, which began in her early years growing up on a farm in Manitoba Canada. The funeral service and burial will be private, on Sunday July 1^st at the Pride of Lynn Cemetery. Friends and relatives are kindly invited to Lou and Mona’s apartment at Lasell Village on Monday July 2 from 1-4pm. Carole Neitlich, of Stoughton, formerly of Quincy, died at the Golden Living Center in Norwood, June 27, 2012. Carole’s interest and impact in the early childhood education of Greater Boston began at a time when the understanding of a young child’s capacity to learn was just being explored. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Eliot-Person Department of Child Study at Tufts University and a master’s in education from Wheelock College. After finishing her formal education, Carole spent 33 years teaching in the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston. She began at the JCC in Quincy, where she became the Regional Director of Early Childhood Education and eventually moved to the Striar Jewish Community Center in Stoughton. During her time as director, Carole oversaw the region’s three preschool programs, founded the Striar Center’s transitional kindergarten program, and began the Ledgewood Special Needs Unit of the JCCs of Greater Boston. Carole also initiated the Department of Early Childhood at Quincy College where she taught evening classes. Carole taught the first course. While anyone will tell you that her most joyous moments were when she was with children, Carole’s place in education was not confined to her early childhood programming or her adult classes. She played an active role in the community she was a part of serving as vice chair of the Mayor’s Commission on the Family as well as a member of the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women, both in Quincy. She was involved with community organizations such as Rosie’s Place and the Pine Street Inn in Boston, Project Helpline and MainSpring House in Brockton. Carole also helped start a newborn home-visiting program in Quincy as well as a parent-child early intervention literacy program. Furthermore, she was a founding board-member of DOVE, Inc., a shelter for domestic violence. Carole’s commitment to her Jewish faith and family values resonated most strongly with her unconditional patience and love for her own family. Carole developed and ran workshops and conferences for parents and families to learn about and discuss fathering, mothering, and interfaith relationships. Carole’s work has impacted over two generations of students and families directly and has created a sustainable systemic change in the early childhood education of Greater Boston and Massachusetts. She has left a legacy that will last beyond her place in education and beyond her life. For 49 years, she was the wife of the late Herbert L. Neitlich, and for the last three years, Phillip Chapman. She was the devoted mother of Dana Neitlich and Howard Levy, Russell and Colleen Neitlich and Drs. Jeffrey and Tyler Neitlich;.loving Nanie of Samara, Yakira, Russell, Michael, Nathan, Ariel and Joshua; loving sister of Roberta Bernstein and the late Herbert Goldberg. WORCESTER – Murray Lubowitz, age 96, formerly of Worcester died in Bay State Medical Center in Springfield.
His wife of 53 years, Selma (Putnam) Lubowitz died in 2003. He leaves a daughter, Carol, wife of Steve Adlestein of Worcester and their two children, Matthew and David Adlestein of Worcester; a son, John Lubowitz and his wife Sondra of Latham, NY and their two children, Jordan and Daniel Lubowitz of Washington, D.C. and a sister, Rozlyn Gloth of Longmeadow and many cousins.
He was born in Worcester on June 30, 1915, a son of Jacob and Lena (Swarin) Lubowitz and had lived here for 92 years before moving to Longmeadow 4 years ago.
He was educated in the Worcester School System and he attended Worcester Jr. College, Clark University and Suffolk Law School.
He served in the Army Airforce during World War II. Following the war he worked in the family business, George’s Flower Shop, retiring 11 years ago.
Murray was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed spending numerous hours at the YMCA on Main St., playing racquet ball until his early nineties. He went down in division in racquet ball as he got older. He also enjoyed walking the track at Worcester State University.
He was a longtime member of Temple Emanuel, was a 3rd Degree Mason, a member of Level Lodge of Masons and was a life member of the YMCA on Main St.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on FRIDAY, JUNE 8TH in BETH ISRAEL SYNAGOGUE on JAMESBURY DRIVE  ,Worcester . Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery.
Memorial Observance will be held through 5 PM on Friday, June 8th and 2 PM to 9 PM on Sunday, June 10th at the residence of Carol and Steve Adlestein at 35 Chippewa Rd.

LEOMINSTER — Helen (Kopelman) Kline, 87, of Fitchburg died on Monday, May 21st at The Highlands.

She leaves her husband of 56 years, Milton W. Kline; a son, Daniel Kline and his wife Norine of Westboro and a daughter, Susan A. Kline of Newton. Her son Thomas E. Kline died in 1987. She leaves two sisters, Lorrie wife of Edwin Kaitz of Rockville, MD and Barbara wife of William Maren of North Andover and two grandchildren.

She was born in Lawrence, a daughter of Morris and Dora Kopelman and have had lived in Fitchburg and Leominster over 50 years.

She graduated from the School of Nursing of Chelsea Memorial Hospital in 1950 and was a registered nurse in hospitals in Los Angeles, Denver, Philadelphia, Fitchburg and Leominster. She was also a private duty nurse.

She was a long time member of Congregation Agudat Achim and its Sisterhood of Leominster and Hadassah.

KLINE — Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 23rd in Congregation Agudat Achim, 236 Washington St., Leominster under the direction of RICHARD PERLMAN of BREZNIAK RODMAN FUNERAL HOME of NEWTON. Burial will be in Agudat Achim Cemetery in Fitchburg.

Ruth (Alpert) Boyer, 101 WORCESTER – Ruth (Alpert) Boyer, age 101, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 19th. Her husband of 38 years, Edward Boyer died in 1975. She was predeceased by her daughter Carol Carbonneau, who died on Oct. 3, 2002, and by her infant son Allan Boyer, who died of spinal meningitis. She leaves seven grandchildren, Jon Carbonneau and his wife Sherri, Lisa wife of Steven Greene, Amy wife of Stephen Letourneau, Edward Carbo-nneau and his wife Kristen, Andy Boyer and his wife Amy, Michael Boyer and David Boyer and 16 great grandchildren, Michelle, Danielle, Nicole, Adam and Kevin Carbonneau, Marissa, Devin and Taylor Greene, Tyler and Collin Letourneau, Lindsey, Nicholas and Cassidy Carbonneau, Jessica, Remy and Zachary Boyer and her good friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Nathan and Irving Alpert. She resided at the Jewish Healthcare Center and previously at Eisenberg Assisted LIving Residence and for 55 years on Kinnicutt Rd. She lived a long and productive life, working until she was 95 years old. She had worked for Leib Insurance Co., Alan Corp. and Kanef Drug Co. She was an avid reader of the Worcester Telegram, reading it daily without the use of glasses. She loved to go to Val’s Restaurant in Holden to celebrate Mother’s Day.
